VLM in Action: Real-Time Traffic Congestion Detection During Heavy Rain
Heavy rainfall can quickly reduce road visibility, slow traffic, and increase the risk of congestion.
HiPower is applying Vision-Language Models (VLM) to real-world traffic monitoring, enabling existing CCTV infrastructure to move beyond passive surveillance toward intelligent, automated road-condition analysis.
Through ViDA.ai × VLM, live highway images can be analyzed for multiple conditions simultaneously, including weather, traffic density, traffic flow, road conditions, and environmental abnormalities.
Beyond traffic congestion, the same VLM architecture can be extended to detect heavy rain, dense fog, flooding, rockfalls, smoke, and other road hazards, turning existing cameras into intelligent sensing nodes for smarter city operations.

Centered on the theme “from intelligence to foresight,” the forum explored how AI architectures can upgrade cities from passive monitoring to a Cognitive City with proactive decision-making capabilities.

HiPower Expands into Poland to Promote International Smart City Collaboration
Following the Taiwan–Poland Industry Exchange held at Taipei World Trade Center in October, HiPower traveled to Poland again in November to meet with local city agencies and industry partners, focusing on the “Gateway to Europe” direction for international cooperation and discussing opportunities in smart city and AIoT industries.
After years of deep experience in the Asian market, HiPower is actively bringing its successful know-how to Europe and the Americas. With ViDA.ai at the core, HiPower is building a global-oriented smart city AIoT video and data collection hub, aiming to work with international partners to promote real-world deployment and cross-border integration of urban technologies.
HiPower will continue to use Taiwan as its base and the world as its stage, moving toward closer global smart city collaboration.

At the Taiwan–Poland Smart City Exchange Forum, HiPower held in-depth discussions with Polish government and industry representatives, sharing Taiwan's practical deployment achievements in smart transportation, airport and port AIoT applications.
This exchange promoted experience sharing between Taiwan and Poland on smart city development strategies and opened future cooperation opportunities in traffic monitoring, infrastructure digitalization and sustainable urban governance.

Economic Daily News Feature: Innovative AI Technology Safeguards Mobility
A feature report by Economic Daily News highlighted the AI + IoT pedestrian safety detection and warning system deployed at a demonstration intersection in Douliu, Yunlin. With real-time AI recognition and two-way LED warnings, the system effectively reduces accident risks, especially for elderly drivers and pedestrians.
The system has also been expanded to a park in Paraguay for smart transportation and unsignalized intersection management.

Officials from a Mexican urban planning agency recently visited Taiwan for exchanges on smart transportation planning, intelligent environmental control and urban infrastructure.

Partnership Signed with the College of Veterinary Medicine, National Chiayi University to Promote an AI Smart Livestock Farming Project
HiPower officially signed a memorandum of cooperation with the College of Veterinary Medicine, National Chiayi University, launching the “AI Smart Livestock Farming Project.”
The two parties will collaborate in areas such as smart livestock pathological diagnosis, environmental sensing data analysis and AI model development to jointly build a service platform for smart livestock farming.
The project is expected to provide farmers with one-stop solutions including pathological monitoring and alerts, smart feeding management and data visualization for decision-making.
Municipal officials and guests from multiple countries joined a visit to the Taipei Traffic Control Center to gain deeper insight into Taiwan's smart traffic management and real-time monitoring response systems.
